EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus review
Updated October 15, 2026
The EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus is the small station we’d pick on a budget if you want more than phone charging. It holds 286Wh, runs 600W continuous, and weighs 10.4 lb. That 600W inverter is double what most boxes this size give you.
How we compare: we read the maker’s specs, the amazon.com listing and what owners keep mentioning, like real solar input, fan noise and weight. We haven’t tested these ourselves, so runtimes are worked out from watt-hours, with the math shown. How we compare.

Is the RIVER 3 Plus the best cheap power station for camping?
For a lot of people, yes. If you want something small for camp that can still run a blender, a small hair dryer or a 600W rice cooker at home, it’s the budget box we’d look at first. Most stations this size stop at 300W, and the RIVER 3 Plus gives you 600W.
You get 286Wh, which is an evening of lights, phones and a laptop with plenty left over. EcoFlow lists a full wall charge in about an hour, and the switchover is under 10 ms, so it can sit behind your router or desktop between trips and take over when the power blinks.
It also grows a little. EcoFlow’s EB300 and EB600 extra batteries clip on and take it to 858Wh, which is enough to keep a 12V fridge going overnight. Here’s the catch: at 10.4 lb it’s a few pounds heavier than the 300W boxes, so it’s a carry from the car, not a hike.

What do the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus specs mean?
Capacity is 286 Wh. That’s plenty for your phones, lights and a laptop on a short trip, but it won’t keep a fridge going overnight.
It’s rated 600 W continuous, which is the most you can run at once. Surge is listed at 1,200 W, with a boost figure of 1,200 W, and that headroom is what gets a fridge compressor started.
It weighs 10.4 lb (4.7 kg). You can carry it from the car to camp without a second thought. It takes up to 220 W of solar, though the wall is usually the quicker way to fill it.
Runtime claims on the box assume a light load, so we’d go by your own watts. How we compare.
How long will the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus run a fridge, CPAP or TV?
Here’s our math for one appliance at a time, using about 243Wh of usable energy. Check the watts on your own label, because yours may differ.
| Appliance | Average watts | Runtime |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi router | 10W | about 24 hours |
| CPAP (no heated humidifier) | 40W | about 6 hours |
| 12V compressor fridge | 50W | about 4 hours |
| Laptop | 60W | about 4 hours |
| 32-inch LED TV | 100W | about 2 hours |
| Kitchen fridge (average with cycling) | 150W | about 1 hour |

Skip if
Skip it if you need a 12V fridge running all weekend, because 286Wh is about a night of fridge on its own. We’d also skip it if every pound counts, since the Jackery Explorer 240 v2 is nearly 3 lb lighter.
Good for a camping weekend and a short home outage.

Common questions
- How long will the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus run a 12V fridge?
- About 4 hours if your fridge averages 50W, which is typical for a 12V compressor fridge. You can draw about 243Wh from it (286Wh times 0.85), so a 40W fridge gets about 6 hours and a 60W one about 4. Hot days and an often-opened lid will shorten that.
- Can the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus run a coffee maker or microwave?
- A drip coffee maker is often 800–1,200W. A microwave is often 1,000–1,200W at the wall. The EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus is rated 600W continuous. So we’d leave both at home.
- How fast does the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus recharge from solar?
- About 1.3 hours at best: 286Wh divided by its 220W solar limit. Real panels give you less than their rating once heat, cloud and a low sun come into it, so we’d plan on longer.
- How heavy is the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus?
- The EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus weighs 10.4 lb. You can carry it from the car to camp on your own.
- Can the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus run a refrigerator during a power outage?
- Only briefly. A kitchen fridge averages roughly 100–200W, so the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus’s 286Wh would last about 1 hours at 150W. We’d size up to 1,000Wh or more if keeping your fridge cold is the main job.
- Is the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus good for camping?
- Yes. At 10.4 lb it’s easy to carry from the car, and 286Wh covers lights, phones and a laptop for a weekend.
- Can you add batteries to the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus?
- Yes. The maker lists expansion up to about 858Wh with its own add-on batteries, so you can add runtime later without replacing the station.
