EcoFlow RIVER 3 vs Jackery Explorer 300

Updated October 15, 2026

Short answer: if you want the most battery for your weekend, we’d take the Explorer 300. If you want something that’s charged again quickly and can sit behind your router between trips, we’d take the RIVER 3.

They’re closer than the names suggest. Both are rated 300W continuous, both use LiFePO4 cells, and there’s only 0.3 lb between them. The Jackery holds 292Wh to the RIVER 3’s 245Wh, so it’ll last a little longer on the same lights and phones.

When we’d pick the EcoFlow RIVER 3

You’ll like the RIVER 3 if you often grab it at short notice. EcoFlow lists a wall charge of about an hour, and it switches over in under 20 ms if the power drops, which makes it useful at home too.

When we’d pick the Jackery Explorer 300

You’ll like the Explorer 300 if your trips run two nights and you’d rather not think about recharging. The extra 47Wh is roughly another evening of a lantern and phone top-ups.

Neither one is a fridge battery. If keeping food cold is the plan, we’d look at the 500Wh class or the 1kWh stations instead.
